Something We Learned this Week

Your lactic threshold is the rate at which lactate accumulates in the blood faster than it is removed. For marathons, runners are usually running at or near their lactic threshold for the 95% of the race. In short, the higher your lactic threshold the faster you race long distance.
There is an interesting relationship between VO2 max and lactic threshold. Typically your lactic threshold occurs at a certain percentage of your VO2 max. By trying to improve both lactic threshold and VO2 max you put yourself in the best position to race well.

Recommendation of the Week
The Nike aero swift series. In my opinion its the best running gear on the market. The half tights are insane.
