Something We Learned this Week

@cbum

Life’s short go all out🫡 #bodybuilding #davidlaid #cbum #backworkout #motivation

Sometimes I forget It’s not good enough just to show up for your workout. A core principle to hypertrophy is training to failure and progressive overload.

… It should be hard. And this video reminded me of that.

Recommendation of the Week

Be mindful of the complexity you introduce into your decisions.

Consider a scenario where you aim to lose weight by meticulously planning every meal for the week and carefully weighing each ingredient. Imagine the disruption if the store runs out of a specific item like "Grace Canned Mackerel in Tomato Sauce," which you had scheduled for lunch on Tuesday and Thursday. Such a tightly structured plan can quickly fall apart over a minor hiccup.

Sometimes it’s better to hold plan A loosely, anticipate the obstacles, so that the smallest inconvenience does trigger an emergency pivot to plan B. And maybe the plan is a simple calories < calories out.

Details can be demons.
