Quote of the Week

“In life we must choose our regrets”

One of my favorite quotes for a couple reasons:

The Inevitability of Regrets: It acknowledges that regret is a natural and unavoidable part of life. No matter how carefully we plan or how wisely we believe we are making our decisions, there will always be moments when we look back and wish we had chosen differently.

Agency and Choice: The quote emphasizes that we have the power to choose, not just our actions but also our regrets. The quote recognizes opportunity cost, which is a cost incurred not only when we are deciding but when we choose not to.

Identifying Experiences that Peak Our Interest. There is a way you can flip this quote on its head. By living your life in such a way you minimize the regret of experiences not had. When you faced with a choice and you spend time to consider “will I regret this if I don’t do this?” you are bound to learn something insightful about yourself. Living life to minimize regret of inaction can course correct your internal disposition.

Race: Chicago Marathon (Sunday October 13, 2024)

A Note from Christian

I will be running for Good Sports - a national nonprofit that gives kids in low-income communities greater access to sports and physical activity. This organization connects with me as sports have been an instrumental part in my life. Sports have provided me with amazing friends, experiences, and lessons that I wouldn't trade for the world. Therefore, I felt connected and passionate about supporting Good Sports mission.

I have always been an active and healthy person but I had never really been a runner until recently. As I decided to run this marathon, I had to force myself to run initially. However, as I have continued running I have begun to love it. I love getting outside for a long run where I can really take in the environment around me. Also, I have found that my mind is clearest while I am running and have found it to be the ultimate meditation. Overall, I am still early in my running journey (~12-15 miles/week) but as I continue to train for the marathon I am excited to increase my weekly mileage and plan to incorporate running in my work out routine for years to come.

Something We Learned this Week

Recommendation of the Week

Ethan and I have always prioritized fitness in our lives, dedicating years to training together through lifting and running. Motivation and mindset built the foundation for everything we were able to accomplish in the gym or on the track. We really wanted to embody our fitness philosophy in something tangible. This led us to create a clothing line. From the start, we sought something highly functional, but the existing wholesale market didn’t have exactly what we were looking for.

Ethan then went to work and meticulously designed technical packs for the t-shirts and shorts himself. We experimented with various fabrics and cuts to create the best possible product. We were relentless. Finally, being able to hold the physical product in our hands was a really special moment. Bringing an idea from your head to life is a divine experience. Humans are meant to create. The folks we’ve been able to collaborate with along the way have truly become family, all of them creators in their own lane. That is something core to the brand: by creators, for creators.

T-shirts and shorts are just the beginning. We are just getting started. Watch how wild we get.
